First aid training is designed to teach individuals how to provide immediate assistance and care to someone who has been injured or suddenly becomes ill. It equips participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to respond effectively in emergency situations until professional medical help arrives.
First aid training is mandatory for many workplace roles and can be conducted through in-person classes, online courses, or blended learning programs.
CPR is a manual procedure that involves chest compressions and rescue breaths to maintain blood flow and oxygenation in someone who has suffered a cardiac arrest. AED, on the other hand, is a device that delivers an electric shock to the heart to restore its normal rhythm.
Topics covered in first aid training include basic life support (CPR and AED use), wound care, burn treatment, fracture and sprain management, choking response, and recognition and initial management of common medical emergencies such as heart attacks, strokes, seizures, allergic reactions, and diabetic emergencies.
All our course (except BLS) are valid for 3 years. After that, you will need to take a renewal course to maintain your certification.
A BLS is valid for 12 months
Yes! Our blended learning programme combines traditional in-person instruction with online components. It offers a flexible and efficient way to deliver comprehensive training while accommodating different learning styles and schedules. Here's how it typically works:
1. Online Learning: Participants begin their training by completing theoretical components online. This may include watching instructional videos, reading educational materials, and engaging in interactive modules or quizzes. Online learning allows individuals to progress at their own pace and access course materials from anywhere with an internet connection.
2. In-Person Sessions: After completing the online portion, participants attend in-person sessions for hands-on practice and skills assessment. These sessions are conducted by experienced trainers, all from emergency services backgrounds themselves and provide an opportunity for learners to apply the knowledge they've gained online in real-life scenarios. Instructors guide participants through practical exercises, demonstrations, and simulations to ensure they develop proficiency in first aid skills.
When searching for a first aid training provider many people simply type "first aid training near me" into the search engine which then lists hundreds of website and companies claiming to be the best. So how to choose who is best and right for your business or individual needs? Here are 4 important factors to consider when looking for a suitable fist aid course or training provider.
1. Accreditation: Ensure that the provider you choose is accredited by a recognised regulatory body. We are delighted to work alongside The First Aid Industry Body (FAIB) and ensure all our course meet the current legislation and HSE obligations.
2. Instructor Qualifications: Look into the qualifications and experience of the instructors who will be leading the training sessions. They should be knowledgeable, certified, and experienced in first aid and CPR instruction. Our trainers are not just qualified, but highly experienced emergency service personnel so you are learning from the best – not just a textbook.
3. Feedback and Reviews: Look for feedback and reviews from previous participants to gauge the quality and effectiveness of the training provided by the organization.
